We booked a short break at Alton towers and stayed here for 1 night. David was so welcoming and friendly after an unbelievably wet day at the park. He even offered to put my shoes in the dryer for me! The attentiveness towards guests (not just ourselves) was noticed and very much appreciated! We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was lovely! I would recommend the burger. The room was also great! Very clean and it was set away from the main building with parking right outside and felt private. Would highly recommend

We stayed here as part of the Alton towers break, and what a good choice we made with this hotel. We arrived at about 2015 after a full day at Alton towers and was greeted with a warmest of welcomes. We ate in the restaurant and the burger was home made and the wife and boy both said it was lovely. I had the pork with bacon and black pudding which was honestly the best meal I have had in a long time (the black pudding was the best ever). The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast had a wide range of foods and was lovely, I treated myself to the pancakes and bacon which was worth the extra money. Definitely worth a stay.

Called in after spending day at Alton Towers on way back to holiday cottage. Very warm welcome and found us a table with no bother. The food was superb. I had the pork loin with black pudding and whole grain mustard sauce. Absolutely gorgeous. The pork was cooked to perfection and the sauce complimented the dish without overpowering it. The bread and butter pudding for dessert was sublime. Can't comment on the place as somewhere to stay but would certainly give it a go.

Stopped over in our little motorhome for the evening while passing through. Great food, friendly staff, open fire for a quick re warm. 3x sports on hard standing, EHU if required £10per night, free otherwise if your eating/drinking here. Refreshingly cheap, straightforward and convenient. See you soon!

We stayed while visiting Alton Towers which is less than 15 minutes away. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Just be aware there is more than one "Dog and Patridge " pub in the area, so make sure you use the post code when using sat nav! I found out the hard way by going to the wrong one! Obviously completely my fault.

We stayed here as a family for 2 days over the school summer holiday as we had a tickets for Alton towers. The building itself is very nice with lovely flowers at front of property it did look really lovely and welcoming. We went to the front desk and woman behind the desk was a lovely woman we all had a chat and then we went into bar and got drinks and sat in the garden. There are steps going to the garden where there is a children’s play area and seating the play area itself needs TLC and a few bits needs updating but the children enjoyed the play area. We had an afternoon tea which was very lovely especially the homemade shortbread biscuits we had a waiter who name was Liam was really nice and welcoming and we talked where we are from and he spoke to our children which was lovely and he advised the Jaffa tea which was amazing . We stayed in our room which was called llam and the views was amazing over the fields we had patio doors with a small patio outside. The room itself was clean and had a wide selection of teas and coffees the only thing we had issues with was that toilet seat was very loose and the shower can get flooded after a while but it was a lovely room the beds was comfortable and had a great to free view signal. We had breakfast and I had a British fry up and the food was lovely really cooked well I just wished it was a tad bigger but it was nice. Alton towers is around 10-15 min drive away from the restaurant and after a long day at Alton towers it was nice knowing didn’t have to drive ages. In general I would definitely stay here again the staff I could not fault they was all happy and helpful and I really did enjoy my stay. Also has some items for sale in the restaurant area from kids toys to jams and other items. Reason for 4 stars was that the play area just needs some TLC :)

We stopped off at the Dog and Partridge on our way back from Thor’s Cave and were so glad we did. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We even picked up some bespoke beer to take away as a gift for a family member. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re after a proper country pub with great food and atmosphere.

Didn't stay the night, just drop in for dinner while passing through on a whim, and it was WORTH IT! The wait stuff were great, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food was delicious - what more could you ask for. We ate a variety of dishes, and all were good and the servings were generous for the price. The kids menu was also good. Would highly recommend.

What a gem. We stayed at the start of December and really enjoyed everything. Friendly welcome and we had a room with a view which was wonderful. Room was cosy and clean and had the added detail of our own Christmas tree. We had dinner one night and a cheese board the second with both meals excellent and plentiful. We hope to come back in the warmer weather to take advantage of all that is on offer.
